The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have updated Pakistan’s ODI squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. The two teams recently concluded the T20I segment of the tour, while the first of the five ODIs is set to be played on April 27 in Rawalpindi.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris has been called back to the ODI side, owing to his impressive run in the recently-concluded PSL 2023 season. The previous time the cricketer donned Pakistan’s ODI jersey was back in August last year.

Despite a lucrative PSL 2023 with the bat, Mohammad Haris struggled to score in the subsequent T20I series against Afghanistan. He was also out for a first-ball duck against New Zealand in the only T20I he played against the ‘Black Caps’, that too, on the day of his ODI call back.

Haris’ inclusion into the side now stretches Pakistan’s ODI squad strength to 17 players, with regular skipper Babar Azam set to continue as captain.

Here is a look at the entire 17-player Pakistan squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand:

Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Haris Sohail, Ihsanullah, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Haris (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood and Usama Mir.

The first two matches of the ODI series will be hosted by the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The two teams will then shift to Karachi’s National Stadium for the subsequent three games, with the final set to be played out on May 7.

The series serves as a testing ground for both sides for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup in India later this year.
