Team India celebrates a wicket in first T20I
Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar’s sublime opening gambits drove India to victory in the first T20I against South Africa. The two speedsters claimed five wickets between them, which also happened to be the first five South African causalities in the match.
The Rohit Sharma’s drawcards eventually hunted down their target with ease, and went 1-0 up in the three-match series.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma heaped praise on the two speed demons for their performance in the first T20I. He hailed both Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar for executing the swing on offer, despite the pitch being a bit tricky to bat on.
The ‘Men in Blue’ captain added that any batter would have been troubled with the way the two bowlers were approaching the game. He said:
“Happy with the way our new ball bowlers (Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar) went. They performed well. No matter what's the conditions, the bowler has to execute the swing on offer well. With the swing they were getting, any batter could get beaten and get troubled.”
South Africa will now face hosts India in a must-win second T20I in Guwahati on October 2. The series itself marks as a dress rehearsal for both sides ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia next month.
