Young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh on Wednesday (September 28) said that he is ready to bowl at any stage of the game ahead of the first T20I of the three-match series between India and South Africa.

Since making his debut in the shortest version of the game against England in July this year, Arshdeep has been phenomenal with the ball in hand. Having represented India in 12 T20 Internationals since making his debut, the left-arm pacer has picked 14 wickets at an average of around 20 and an economy rate of just over 7 with the best bowling figure of 3/12.

Arshdeep has been India's go-to option for wickets in any phase of the game whenever the captain has asked him to bowl. His bowling in the death overs in particular has received a lot of praise from all corners of the world.

When asked about his selection in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022, Arshdeep said everyone in his family was very happy with his selection, and that he is very pleased with this opportunity.

"The feeling is good and everyone is happy at home. As a youngster you prepare to play for your country and the World Cup is the biggest stage, so getting that opportunity I am very happy,"

The young pacer further said that in international cricket they have to be adaptable so he is ready to bowl whenever the team needs him.

"We as players need to be adaptable and be ready for any demands from the team, the same motivation remains with me, I am ready to bowl wherever the team needs me,"

The 23-year-old Punjab bowler said the clarity of role has helped him to execute his plans better at the highest level.

"There needs to be clarity in your role, the captain and management have given me that and I practice accordingly. If you have match kinda situations in practice and are able to execute your plans, then you'd do well in the game,"
