I enjoyed taking David Miller's wicket: Arshdeep Singh after his swing-bowling masterclass

Indian left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh lauded his opening partner Deepak Chahar for 'setting the tone', post which he bamboozled the South African batting-order with a masterclass in swing bowling.

On a pitch where the ball was hooping corners, Deepak Chahar gave India a perfect start as he set-up Temba Bavuma with a series of out-swingers before getting one to jag back wickedly into the South African skipper.

After that, it was the Arshdeep Singh show as the young seamer moved the ball both ways to knock over the Proteas batsmen.

While he dismissed Rilee Rossouw with a peach of a outswinger, which the southpaw nicked to Rishabh Pant, David Miller was undone by a booming inswinger.

Arshdeep was deservedly adjudged the 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning figures of 3/32 in 4 overs.

Speaking to the host broadcaster at the post-match conference, Arshdeep said:

"The way Deepak set the tone, I knew there was help for us. I kept bowling in the right areas and got the reward as well. I enjoyed taking David Miller's wicket as I bowled the inswinger, and he expected the outswinger, and he was deceived in the end."

Arshdeep and Chahar's power play onslaught left the Proteas reeling at 9/5

But a fighting knock from Keshav Maharaj (41 off 35) and a valuable contribution from Wayne Parnell ensured that the visitors breached the 100-run mark.

The ball kept swinging in the 2nd half and when India lost both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli inside the powerplay, it looked like we may have clutch situation on our hands.

But, Suryakumar Yadav (50* off 33) had other ideas, and in his presence, opener KL Rahul (51* off 56) too flourished after successfully weathering the storm.

The duo added unbeaten 93 runs for the 3rd wicket to take India home, with KL finishing it off with a slog sweep for a six.
