Yashasvi Jaiswal has been one of the fastest rising stars in world cricket at the moment. Having made his international debut in 2023, Jaiswal has quickly become an integral member of the Indian squad.

However, despite seeing all the glitters and glam in the last 1 year, not everything came easy for the dynamic Mumbai batter. He had behavioral issues in the past, and one such incident with Ajinkya Rahane changed his career 360 degrees.

How an argument with Ajinkya Rahane made Jaiswal a better person

During a Duleep Trophy match between West and South Zone, a controversy erupted when West Zone skipper, Rahane sent-off Jaiswal for disciplinary issues. Throughout the match, Jaiswal sledged South Zone batter, Ravi Teja, and the umpires warned him on numerous occasions.

During the 50th over of South Zone batting, Jaiswal had a go at R Teja, and had an heated argument, and as a result, both the umpires and captain Rahane had to intervene. Rahane tried to calm Jaiswal, but when everything failed, the skipper sent him off the field.

The Indian opener had to be in the dugout for the next 15 overs, and was eventually called back. This decision to send-off Jaiswal was lauded by the cricketing fraternity, and it somehow made Jaiswal a better person.

By the time he made his India debut, the dashing batter had become more humble, and more mature and the stats tells the entire story.
