An aggressive cricketer on the field, Virat Kohli is also a thorough gentleman off the playing ground. The Indian batting legend has once again reinforced his strong personality by prioritising family over cricket during a reported emergency and taken a break from the ongoing Test series against England.

Kohli, who is currently abroad with his wife and film icon Anushka Sharma, has had naysayers speaking once again against his relationship and the priority given to his wife and the family even as the man's strong confidant and loyal fans have kept their support while wishing him and Anushka well.

Twice now Kohli's leave of absence to adhere to a family responsibility has been questioned, with Anushka unfortunately facing the brunt of misguided individuals on social media. The player and his wife were subjected to heavy trolling even when he decided to skip the final three Tests of the 2020-21 Australia trip due to the birth of his first child.

When Kohli Came Out In Support Of Anushka

Anushka had faced the fire from trolls and nasty abusers on social media even before she tied the knot with Kohli. The graceful actress had been subjected to inappropriate remarks and blamed for Kohli's rare failure in the 2015 World Cup semifinal against Australia.

As India lost in Sydney and crashed out of the title race, Anushka was severely criticised and given flak for acting as an alleged disturbance to Kohli and his game. The couple maintained their composure and silence throughout the phase.

However, when the trolling and abusing didn't stop even a year later during the T20 World Cup played in India in 2016, Kohli came up with a tweet demanding the naysayers to have some "shame" and "compassion".

The couple married each other in December 2017 and were blessed with a baby girl 'Vamika' in early 2021.
