With just months to go for the much-awaited The Ashes 2023, banter and chatter from current and former players have already started grabbing headlines in the media. Australia will head over to England to play a customary five-Test series from June and look to retain the urn, which they won in the 2021-22 edition Down Under.

Former Australian great Glenn McGrath, who rattled England batters during his playing days, believes that Brendon McCullum's 'BazBall' approach is impressive, and that Ben Stokes and Co. have taken playing with freedom to another level.

Under McCullum and Stokes, The Three Lions have won 10 out of their last 12 Tests, which include 3-0 whitewash of Pakistan in Pakistan.

Speaking to the BBC Test Match Special, the 53-year-old praised the bowling duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who broke McGrath and Shane Warne's record of 1,001 wickets combined.

Here's what McGrath said

'Unfortunately, yes. If you play without fear, it's amazing what you can achieve. The Australia team I played in played with a lot of freedom and we backed ourselves, but England have taken it to the next level.

They feel they can win from any situation. They put the pressure straight back on the opposition and back themselves to chase down any target in the fourth innings. That's something pretty new. When you've got the buy-in from the whole team, that's pretty special,"

The former Delhi Daredevils player also lauded England's new pace sensation Ollie Robinson, who bears an uncanny to McGrath.

The first Test gets underway on June 16 at Edgbaston.
