In a bid to salvage their season and bolster the batting lineup, Delhi Capitals have roped in former Under-19 cricketer Priyam Garg to their squad for the remainder of the season.
As per a report by Sportskeeda, an official announcement hasn't been made, but will take place soon.
Garg and Bengal skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran were called up for a two-day trial on Tuesday and Wednesday, but looking at all the permutations and combinations, DC decided to keep Garg in their already stacked squad.
Easwaran is more of a technical batter and has better T20 numbers than Garg. However, the former SRH player, Garg has more IPL experience and was signed by SRH for INR 1.90 crore. The right-handed batter has scored 215 IPL runs in 17 matches at a strike-rate of 115.14.
The season has been a forgettable one for ther Capitals so far. They lost 5 games in a row, and barely managed to clinch a victory in their sixth game against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Injuries to Rishabh Pant (knee), Kamlesh Nagarkoti (back injury) , and Khaleel Ahmed (hamstring) have not helped their cause in the ongoing IPL tournament.
