In the ongoing World Cup 2023, Team India have ticked all the boxes. The bowlers have bowled exceptionally well, the batters have looked compact, but if there was one thing missing from the Indian puzzle, it was the absence of Shubman Gill.

The right-handed batter was diagnosed with Dengue, a few days prior to the World Cup. He was even admitted to the hospital and there were question marks on his World Cup return. However, the recent signs have been encouraging and as reported by OneCricket, Gill is set to play in India's next match against Pakistan.

After joining his teammates in Ahmedabad, Gill practiced for an hour on Thursday and looked solid in the middle. However, there were still question marks over his availability for the Pakistan clash. But on Friday, Gill attended the last training session and sweated it hard in the nets.

As seen in the video, Gill is looking assured while batting and is practising against a left-arm pacer, indicating that he is getting ready to face Pakistan's left-arm seamer, Shaheen Afridi.

Gill is a vital cog for Team India in this World Cup. He has been sublime in 2023, and has already accumulated 1,230 runs in just 20 ODIs.

India and Pakistan will face each other for the 8th time in 50-over World Cups, with India leading the head-to-head encounter 7-0.
