Jeweller in Ahmedabad Makes Replica World Cup Trophy

A jeweller based in Ahmedabad, which is set to play host to the high-octane India versus Pakistan ICC World Cup 2023 encounter on Saturday (October 14), has created a gold-made replica of the prestigious World Cup trophy and wishes to meet skipper Rohit Sharma with the gift. 

ANI revealed the jeweller has created a small trophy similar to the design of the World Cup crown with gold worth 0.900 grams of weight and is looking to hand it over to Rohit & company with best wishes for the Pakistan game and the remainder of their campaign in the tournament. 

Exhibiting his love for the game and the sense of the occasion, the jeweller wants to meet up with Rohit to probably garner some fame and popularise his brand in Ahmedabad with the news of the trophy replica going viral on social media. 

As stated in the ANI report, the trophy is weighted nearly a kilogram worth of pure gold and would be a high-value prize for those holding it. However, the jeweller doesn't seem to wish to sell the trophy replica, instead, wants to hand it over to the Indian captain. 

Jeweller Makes World Cup Trophy Replica For Rohit & Co 

The replica gold trophy is designed just like the ICC World Cup trophy, which features a cricket ball acting as the globe placed between three-way pillars adjoined with a circular mettle. At the bottom, the names of the previous World Cup winners are dotted on the trophy in gold. 

This design of the World Cup trophy was first introduced at the 2003 edition of the marquee tournament in South Africa to champions Australia. Since it gained great acceptance and fame amidst cricket lovers, the design was formally established for the 50-over World Cup trophy and awarded to winners in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 and will be handed over to the 2023 champions. 

Rohit would love to grab hold of the coveted trophy on November 19 and mark his legacy as a player and captain of the Indian cricket team with the nation eyeing the ultimate glory after 12 long years of wait and ecstasy.
