A total of four teams came up against each other on Tuesday, February 7th in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Let's take a quick review of the action transpired.

Match 37: Chattogram vs Dhaka

Result: Chattogram Challengers won by 15 runs.

A brilliant performance with the ball helped Chattogram Challengers to defend 119 against Dhaka Dominators in a low-scoring contest in Match 37.

After opting to bat first, Chattogram could only manage a 118 in the first innings. They had a very poor start in the powerplay, scoring just twenty in the first six overs and lost three wickets as well. Curtis Campher alongside Usman Khan tried to rebuild the innings, eyeing a big finish, but were soon halted before the slogging overs. However, Ziaur Rahman came to the rescue and scored an unbeaten 34 off 20 which powered Chattogram to a respectable total. Arafat Sunny took four wickets in his four overs and was easily the pick of the bowlers for Dhaka.



Chasing a paltry 119, Dhaka got off to a decent start, scoring 37 in the first six overs and lost two wickets. Following the powerplay, Chattogram bowlers kept it very tight and managed to take wickets regularly as well. As a result, Dhaka fell 15-runs short of the target at the end. Campher took three wickets as was the pick of the bowlers for the Challengers.

Barishal vs Comilla

Result: Comilla Victorians won by 5 wickets.

Mukidul Islam’s five wickets with the ball, followed by Andre Russell’s clinical hitting at the end lead Comilla Victorians to beat Fortune Barishal in Match 38th.

After being asked to bat first, Fortune Barishal got bowled out for just 121 in the first innings. Mukidul Islam took five wickets in his spell and broke the back of Barishal’s batting. From a batting point of view, Shakib Al Hasan’s men started the innings very slowly and kept losing wickets regularly. Karim Janat and Mehidy Hasan Miraz added 47 runs for the sixth wicket and got Barishal to a position to finish the game well but failed and Barishal got bundled out for 121.



In reply, Comilla Victorians had a very good start, scoring 41 for one at the end of the powerplay. However, Barishal did make a very good comeback by giving just 34 runs and taking four wickets in the next nine overs, only to get smashed by Andre Russell and Khushdil Shah at the end, who took the defending champions over the line quite comfortably at the end.
