Yuzvendra Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in IPL history and has been a genuine wicket-taker in the shortest format. He was once India's frontline spinner in white-ball cricket too, but has fallen off the selection radar in the last few years.
The cricketer, though, is still trying hard to make his India comeback and is now playing in England's One-Day Cup for Northamptonshire. Now, in the game against Durham, Chahal has emerged as a star with the ball and helped Northamptonshire bowl out Durham for just 171.
Yuzvendra Chahal Proves Too Hot To Handle For Durham Batters
The Indian leg-spinner picked three wickets for 30 runs and ensured that there was no fightback from the opposition. Durham were chasing a massive target of 322, and they needed a good start. However, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were six down for just 106.
George Drissell tried to fight back and scored 31 off 44 balls, but Yuzvendra Chahal got the better of him with his lovely variation in the 29th over. The leg-spinner then got the wickets of Paul Coughlin and Mitchell Killeen, and Durham eventually lost the game by 150 runs.
The three-wicket haul from Yuzvendra Chahal has taken his tally to six wickets in the England One-Day Cup 2025. He has picked up those wickets in three matches so far and is likely to play a big role with the ball for Northamptonshire in the upcoming matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal struggling For India Comeback
As far as India's comeback is concerned, Chahal last played a game for the country in August 2013. However, he was part of India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. He did not get a game in that tournament and has since not been included in the Indian side despite good performances in IPL, domestic cricket, and other tournaments.
