In the third and final T20i of the three-match series, the hosts Australia have won the toss and have asked South Africa to bat first in the series-decider match. The visiting captain Aiden Markram was visibly happy after losing the toss as he expressed that he would have opted to bat anyway.

Notably, both the matches have been won by the team which batted first, which is why South Africa are happy to bat first.

Australia vs South Africa 3rd T20i: Captains' Thoughts

Aiden Markram (South Africa captain): "Probably would have batted. There is not a lot of data on this venue. Hopefully the wicket plays well. Most facilities in Australia are good. Hopefully, the wicket plays well. It is a completely new game today. There is some confidence we can take from the last game. But it is a new game altogether. Have to start well again with both bat and ball."

Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "We are going to bowl first. We haven't played here a lot. So, we will try to get as much information about the pitch as possible. Hopefully, that is the right call. A few of them have played a couple of games here before. They said that they have enjoyed their time. Cairns is a pretty amazing part of Australia. There are a lot of families here. It is great. It is 1-1. Hopefully we win this game and win the series.

Both teams have made changes to their playing XI, with Proteas opting for a solitary change, while Australia have made three replacements.
