After a solid start to the WPL 2024 season, the defending champions suffered a few humiliating losses along the way. After losing to UP Warriorz, Mumbai faced another concerning defeat against Delhi Capitals the previous night. 

Batting first, DC-W captain Meg Lanning returned to the hut after a sturdy half-century, but Jemimah Rodriguez's carnage at the end led the home side to a mammoth 192 runs total.

Moreover, two early blows in the chase were enough to derail Mumbai Indians Women as they fell short of 29 runs at the end.

Despite Harmanpreet Kaur and Shabnim Ismail's return, the defending champions struggled to soak the pressure in Delhi. With the playoff competition heating up, such losses will cost the team dearly.
