In a significant incident, the ongoing World Cup final between India and Australia was interrupted for a brief period as someone from the crowd invaded the playing area. The incident took place during the 14th over of the first innings after Australia invited India to bat on a dry surface at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After ace Australian spinner Adam Zampa delivered the first three balls of his second over, an intruder rushed into the playing area, interrupting the high-voltage clash for quite a while. He had a mask resembling the Palestinian flag and also wore a t-shirt having caption, 'Stop bombing Palestine'.

While the cricketing fraternity enjoys the World Cup, the situation has worsened in the middle east owing to the armed conflict between Israel and Palestine.

As the battle intensifies, the invader took his chance to convey his message through such an act during the biggest game of cricket at the iconic venue. He even got close to legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli before the security personnel arrested him.

Regarding the game, India are placed at 108 for three in 18 overs, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul batting on 35* and 16*, respectively, as of writing.
