Riding on scintillating half-centuries from Murshida Khatun and Nigar Sultana, Bangladesh Women made a mockery of the Malaysian bowling unit in the Women's Asia Cup encounter on Wednesday.

This is a must-win game for Bangladesh Women, as they are reeling at third in the group-B points table. They can keep themselves alive in the competition only if they emerge victorious in this game.

Murshida, Nigar propel Bangladesh to a mammoth total

Meanwhile, flamboyant knocks from Murshida Khatun and Nigar Sultana propelled Bangladesh to a whopping score in this must-win clash against Malaysia Women.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh Women were off to a fantastic start, with openers Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun stitching a brisk 65-run stand in 7.4 overs for the first wicket.

After Dilara Akter was dismissed by Mahirah Izzati Ismail in the eighth over, skipper Nigar Sultana joined Murshida in the middle to steady the ship.

The duo showcased exemplary batting skills, adding 89 runs for the second wicket. Murshida hammered 80 runs off just 59 balls, while skipper Sultana contributed 62 runs, with the help of five fours and two sixes.

Their commendable batting effort powered Bangladesh to 191/2, their second-best total in Women's T20Is.
