The highly anticipated World Test Championship final is set to commence on Wednesday, featuring a thrilling match between Team India and Australia at The Oval. This marks India's consecutive participation in the tournament's title match, following their disappointing loss to New Zealand in the previous edition, which was the first-ever held. In the current edition, India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, secured their spot in the final during their last bilateral series against Australia.

The much-awaited climax of the tournament, known as the 'Ultimate Test,' will be broadcasted live on Star Sports and streamed on the digital platform Disney+ Hotstar. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced that the final will also be available for free viewing in India on the government-owned television channel, Doordarshan's 'DD Sports.' This move ensures that fans across the country can enjoy the pinnacle of the tournament without any subscription requirements.

“In India, the Star Sports network will showcase the English World Feed and provide regional coverage in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. Their digital platform Disney+ Hotstar will show live coverage of each day’s play. India’s public broadcaster Doordarshan will also carry live coverage of each day’s play via their DD Sports channel,” the statement read.

The ICC has further revealed that the telecast of the final is projected to reach a staggering global audience of approximately 700 million people.

This reflects the immense popularity and widespread interest in the World Test Championship, as cricket fans from around the world eagerly anticipate this epic showdown between India and Australia. The significant viewership numbers highlight the global appeal and importance of this prestigious tournament, which captivates cricket enthusiasts across various nations.
