Yashasvi Jaiswal who was all set to play the first T20I against Afghanistan was surprisingly not in the XI when the team was announced after the toss. Rahul Dravid in his press conference a day before the game announced that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma will open the innings but that plan has been halted because Jaiswal was reported with a sore right groin on the match day.

It has given Shubman Gill another chance in T20Is and he will be opening alongside Rohit Sharma in the first T20I. Meanwhile, there is no clarity on the seriousness of Yashasvi Jaiswal's injury and Indian fans would be hoping that he gets fit before the 2nd T20I.

As far as India's team composition is concerned, Shivam Dube has been included in the XI ahead of Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma has been preferred as the wicketkeeper in the team.

India are bowling first after winning the toss and this being a good chasing ground, Rohit Sharma and his boys would be expecting to deliver a strong performance. Afghanistan too have quality players though and it would be an interesting battle in what would be the final international game at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
