Rahul Dravid revealed in the press conference ahead of the 1st T20I against Afghanistan that Virat Kohli will not be playing 1st T20I against Afghanistan due to a personal reason. The news has come as a big shock to the Indian fans who were eagerly waiting for Kohli to make his T20I comeback as the batter did not play T20Is since the 2022 T20 World Cup.

There are numerous speculations going around social media regarding the real reason behind Kohli's absence from the 1st T20I and one of those is the birthday of his daughter Vamika. Her birth date is 11th of January, the same date when the first T20I is scheduled to play, so it seems that Virat Kohli wants to be with his daughter for her third birthday.

This is most probably the reason of Virat Kohli's absence from the 1st T20I and he will be play the second and third T20Is scheduled to be played at Indore and Bengaluru respectively. This is an important series for India in terms of their preparation for the T20 World Cup to be played in June 2024 and with Rohit Sharma back as captain, India will be looking to tick as many boxes as possible in this three-match T20I series.
