In a significant development, Lucknow Super Giants have won the toss and elected to bowl first in their tenth group-stage IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians. However, the Super Giants will be without Quinton de Kock, who won't be participating in the high-voltage clash at the Ekana stadium. 

The Super Giants have made several notable changes to their team from the previous game, bringing in Arshin Kulkarni, Ashton Turner and Mayank Yadav for De Kock, Yash Thakur and Amit Mishra. 


Why Is Quinton de Kock Not Playing?

Hailed for his scintillating strokeplay, De Kock has had a torrid IPL 2024 campaign, amassing only 236 runs at an abysmal average of 26.22. Therefore, as Rahul didn't cite any injury concern, we reckon the ace Proteas batter might have been dropped owing to his poor form. 

The explosive southpaw had a great start to the tournament as he struck blistering fifties against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, he hasn't done anything significant since then. 

Statistically, De Kock has managed only 97 runs in his previous six IPL 2024 outings. His worrying form is a massive headache not only for LSG but also South Africa with the T20 World Cup being around the corner.
