On Sunday, April 27, Mumbai Indians locked horns against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium. Rishabh Pant won the toss and LSG asked the hosts to bat first. Both teams made few changes to the squad, as LSG brought in Mayank Yadav for Shardul Thakur.

Meanwhile, for Mumbai Indians, they too have made a couple of changes and the one change that made the most noise was absence of Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. Lets' first look at MI's playing XI for LSG match.

Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (wk), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Naman Dhir, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Karn Sharma

Why Is Jasprit Bumrah Not A Part Of MI's Playing XI?

The fans need not worry as Bumrah will return in the second innings as an impact sub. MI wanted more stability and depth in the batting order, which is why the five-time winners thought of leaving Bumrah on the bench for the ongoing match, but it is a certain that Jasprit would be brought as an impact sub in the 2nd innings.

In place of Bumrah, Mumbai Indians have brought back Rohit Sharma back in the playing XI and it is most likely that the Indian skipper will make way for Bumrah in the 2nd innings. Talking about the ongoing match, other changes for the Indians are that Cobrin Bosch and Karn Sharma come in for Mitchell Santner and Vignesh Puthur.
