England’s Test captain Ben Stokes has arrived in Mumbai amidst his injury. As per reports, the 33-year-old visited Mumbai to attend a meeting with the officials of the Mumbai Indians franchise. A recent update suggests that Stokes will be interacting with Akash Ambani, son of Mumbai Indians’ owner Mukesh Ambani.

Stokes’ unexpected meeting with Mumbai Indians officials has prompted fans to speculate whether the legendary English all-rounder will be joining the franchise for the ongoing IPL 2025 season.

Ben Stokes arrives in Mumbai amidst IPL 2025

A day before Mumbai Indians’ all-important home match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise at the Wankhede Stadium, England Test captain and charismatic all-rounder Ben Stokes was spotted arriving in Mumbai. 

Report indicates that Stokes visited Mumbai, met Mumbai Indians players at the team hotel, and will be meeting with the officials of the franchise.


It is worth noting that Ben Stokes is part of Mumbai Indians’ SA20 franchise, the MI Cape Town. However, the cricketer was ruled out of the entirety of the SA20 2025 season earlier this year owing to his injury.

While some fans are speculating that Stokes will be joining the Mumbai Indians franchise for IPL 2025, it remains an improbable scenario considering the cricketer did not put up his name for the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.

Nonetheless, the Mumbai Indians franchise will now face the LSG group on Sunday, April 27. The match will be hosted by the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the action will commence from 3:30 PM IST onwards.
