The 6th match of the Indian Premier League takes place between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Both the sides have had contrasting fortunes in the league. While the Bengaluru based side has qualified for the playoffs, SRH got crashed out of the tournament.
However, RCB are still in the hunt for a top-2 finish, but during the toss time, something unusual happened. Rajat Patidar, the RCB captain was nowhere to be seen as Jitesh Sharma replaced him as the skipper for the match. What happened to Patidar? is he injured?.
Why Jitesh replaced Patidar as captain
For the context, Patidar injured his finger during RCB's last match Vs CSK, 20 days ago. Since hen he is wearing a splint on his finger and had the league was not suspended, Patidar wouldn't have recovered for this clash.
But, fielding and taking catches might ignite the injury once again and hence, for precautionary measure, Patidar will only play this match as a batter and is included in the Impact Players list.
RCB's top-2 scenario
RCB currently have 17 points from 12 matches and have 8 wins in their bag. However, to cement their place in the top-2, RCB need to win both their remaining games or they could win one match and if the other results go in their favour, the side could finish in top-2.
