The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a dream 2024 IPL season where they showcased their batting prowess and broke several records as they reached the finale. Hence, the expectations were high prior to the IPL 2025 season, but disaster struck as the Pat Cummins led side crashed out of the league.

They failed to qualify for the playoffs and had an underwhelming season as they couldn't replicate the same performance of the 2024 season. However, in a season where hardly anything went right for the franchise, there were 3 positives which the team can take for the next season.

1) The rise of Aniket Verma

The franchise had the likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the ranks, but the best batter of the team was the young Aniket Verma. Cummins showed faith in him and the batter delivered the goods as he scored crucial runs for the side when it mattered the most.

Coming in at number 6 , Aniket played some key knocks for the team ans was the shining light in an otherwise disjointed SRH batting lineup which lacked confidence.

2) Klaasen justifying massive price tag

Klaasen became the most expensive retention this season as SRH retained him for a whopping 23 crores. The world witnessed how Rishabh Pant crumbled under the 27 crore price tag, but Klaasen showed why SRH truly paid him that big amount.

Apart from Aniket, Klaasen was a consistent performer for SRH and in most situations he delivered the goods. Plus, the Proteas batter had a strike rate in excess of 150 and many times he was the one-man army for the SRH side. He justified why such a big amount was paid to retain him.

3) The underrated star, Harshal Patel

SRH invested so much in their batting department that the bowling core remained weak. However, one bowler who continued his purple patch in the IPL was former RCB pacer, Harshal Patel. SRH usually prepare flat decks to help their batters and even in those surfaces, Harshal delivered for his side.

In just 11 matches he has scalped 15 wickets and has been the lone shining light in SRH's weak bowling lineup.
