The incident occurred in 11th over when Harshit Rana showcased his skill and temperament, and delivered an absolute peach of a delivery to remove Travis Head.
Coming round the wicket, Harshit Rana bowled a good-length delivery angled in towards the off stump. The ball pitched on a probing line and straightened just enough after pitching, The ball was almost perfect and was unplayable.
Head, who is known for his aggressive stroke play, seemed rooted in the crease and made the fatal mistake of not using his feet. He attempted a defensive shot and completely misjudged the line entirely.
Instead of covering the movement, he played inside the line of the ball. The delivery, with its subtle deviation went past the outside edge of his bat and crashed into the top of the off stump. Travis Head was left shaking his head in disbelief as he walked back to the pavilion, after just scoring 11 runs.
India's Bowling Dominance
Earlier Jasprit Bumrah's fiery spell had already wreaked havoc on the Australian top order. Bumrah, bowling with his usual class, scalped three early wickets, that left hosts tottering at 19/3 in the first innings.
The conditions at the Optus Stadium have provided fast bowlers with extraordinary seam movement and bounce. Rana, making the most of the assistance, bowled with hostility and precision, keeping the Australian batters on the back foot.
