The stage is set for the IPL 2025 mega-auction as Jeddah will host the much-awaited event on November 24 and 25. Talking about Delhi Capitals, they have retained four players and will enter the auction with the third-highest purse value.

While DC would look to build a strong core for the upcoming season, they would be eyeing to bring back a few of their players from the previous edition. Right To Match (RTM) is the best option for Delhi to re-purchase a few players. Notably, DC have two RTMs left, and this article will shed light on two players DC would look to buy back through RTM.

1. Jake Fraser McGurk

Why Would DC Retain JFM?

  • Delhi Surface is a flat pitch, and it assists the batter. Further, the boundaries are shot, and an explosive batter like McGurg at the top can prove to be dangerous.
  • Amazing Run In IPL 2024- McGurk had a brilliant run in IPL 2024 as he amassed 330 runs in nine games, which featured four fifties.
  • McGurk is expected to fetch around 6-7 crores in the auction, and DC would certainly not mind splurging that amount to retain McGurk's services.

2. Rasikh Dar

Although DC have retained an uncapped star in the form of Abhishek Porel, they would also look to have Rasikh Dar in their team. Notably, Rasikh shone for India A during the recently concluded Emerging Asia Cup. Notably, he took nine wickets in that tournament.

Why Should DC Retain Rasikh Salam?

  • Ability To Bowl In The Death Overs - Rasikh is not the fastest bowler but was effective for DC in the middle overs with his medium pace. Further, he also bowled in the death overs and impressed the critics with his skill.
  • He took nine wickets in eight games in IPL 2024, that can make DC go after him. However, he lacks the batting skill required as a batter that can lower his auction value and is expected to fetch around 2-3 crores. Thus, the Capitals won't mind using a RTM for him.
