Suryakumar Yadav’s 44-ball 83, laced with 10 fours and four sixes, made headlines on Tuesday (August 8), in India’s dominant seven-wicket victory over the West Indies in Guyana. The stylish batsman did not really stop there to awe the crowd; his clever humour also garnered attention after the game.

After helping India chase 160 runs with 13 balls to spare, SKY was fittingly named the Player of the Match. Following the game, a journalist wanted to know his thoughts on his knock, which was over in 12.4 overs and would have easily allowed him to reach his fourth T20I century had he stayed till the end to take India past the finishing line.

However, the journalist, while asking the question, mistakenly mentioned it would have been his third T20I hundred. In a matter of seconds, SKY responded to him with all smiles, saying, "Let me correct you first. Reaching the three-digit mark would have been my fourth century in the shortest format game, not my third."

Here's the conversation's video:

After pulling one back, India will next play West Indies again on August 12 in the fourth T20I in Lauderhill. If the Men in Blue win it, the five-match series will go to the decider to be played at the same venue a day later.
