A viral video of former Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma is doing round on social media, where he is supposedly heard talking about the MI captaincy switch with KKR's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, post their practice at Eden Gardens. The video, that has now been deleted from Kolkata Knight Riders ' official Instagram and Twitter handle, has sparked a lot of discussions among people.

Watch the video here:

In the video Rohit Sharma looks sad and heartbroken as he talks to Nayar about how things are changing one by one and nothing feels like before. He also talks how the 'temple' was built by him and that it is his home, a house that no longer requires his leadership, leaving a big void in his heart. While the context of the video is a subject to interpretation, it is widely being understood that he is referring to the big captaincy change.

Here's what he said:

"Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai...Woh unke upar hai...Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai"

Back in December 2023, Mumbai Indians shook everyone when they announced that Hardik Pandya has been traded from Gujarat Titans and that he will be the new captain, thereby Rohit Sharma was stripped from his leadership role.

Numerous videos and comments have always suggested a very different narrative from what has been portrayed by Mumbai Indians management and this video and the fact that it has now been deleted, only adds fuel to the fire.

The consequences of the change have been very evidently seen as Mumbai Indians became the very first team to be eliminated from IPL 2024 and now sit at the ninth position on the points table.
