Rachin Ravindra has not had a good day at the crease as he departs after scoring 10 runs in 13 balls against West Indies in match 26 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium on Thursday. 

New Zealand bowlers have done their job well and the match was in their control until Sherfane Rutherford showcased some explosive power-hitting and his quickfire 68 runs in 39 balls helped West Indies reach 149/9.

Chasing the target, the Kiwis have found themselves in a tough situation as they lose wickets at continuous wickets and are not able to build momentum and things went worse for them when they lost the wicket of destructive batter Rachin Ravindra. 

The 24-year-old cricket had a scratchy start and struggled to build his innings. In the 8th over of the New Zealand innings, under pressure, Ravindra was dismissed by Gudakesh Motie, who claimed his second wicket. 

Ravindra attempted to whip a quicker arm-ball from Motie, delivered at 102.8 kmph on the fuller side around leg stump. He planted his front leg and used his bottom hand to try and whip it in front of square on the leg side. 

However, he failed to get the necessary elevation, and Andre Russell, positioned at deep mid-wicket, took a straightforward catch a few steps inside the ropes. Ravindra was visibly disappointed with his dismissal.
