Tim Southee's short-pitched delivery worked wonders for his side as danger-man, Nicholas Pooran departed without putting much pressure on the scoreboard.

Put into bat by Kane Williamson, West Indies had a horrendous start, losing Johnson Charles for duck, as Trent Boult shattered his stumps.

The onus was on Pooran to bail his side out of a tricky situation, but after playing some delightful strokes, the West Indian superstar perished to a short-ball from the wily Southee. The incident occurred in the 4th over, when Southee decided to surprise Pooran as he banged one short and the batter was hurried by the delivery.

The left-handed batter got a top-edge, which went over the keepers' head. However, Conway, kept his eyes on the ball and parried back to take a stunning catch which shocked the West Indian camp.

One brought the downfall of another, as the Men in Maroon pressed the panic button and lost Roston Chase for a duck, followed by captain Rovman Powell, who was knocked over by Southee.

At the moment, West are tottering at 76/7. For the Kiwis, everything is going according to the plan as they need to win this contest to stay alive in the race for the Super-8 place.
