In the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, New Zealand have won the toss and opted to bowl first against West Indies in Match 26 at the Brian Lara Stadium. And their decision to bowl first turned fruitful as their ace bowler Trent Boult scalped the first wicket for them in the first over as he bowled West Indies opener Johnson Charles.

The incident occurred in the first over of the West Indies innings, Trent Boult delivered an early breakthrough as he dismissed Johnson Charles. In the last ball of the over, Boult bowled a good length delivery at 140 kmph in the channel outside off.

The West Indies opener attempted an aggressive stroke as he stepped towards the leg side to lift the ball over the covers, misjudged the shot and got an inside edge that deflected onto his stumps. This resulted in Charles being bowled out for a five-ball duck, giving Boult a wicket in his first over.
