New Zealand and West Indies are playing each other in the 26th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match is being held at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

Kane Williamson asked West Indies to bat first in the game. Even though they struggled with the bat for the most part of the innings, Sherfane Rutherford emerged as the hero for the home team. He scored 68 runs off 39 deliveries and helped West Indies set a target of 150 runs for New Zealand. 


On a bowler-friendly wicket, the Kiwis struggled to get going from the beginning. They were three down for 39 when Daryl Mitchell walked out into the park. There was a lot, depending on how Mitchell built his innings at the stage. 


Mitchell fails to deliver with the bat


However, Mitchell did not last long in the middle. He was cleaned up for 12 off 13 on the final delivery of the 11th over. It was a classic delivery by Gudakesh Motie that foxed Mitchell. Motie tossed up the ball around the middle and off and invited the batter to work the ball away on the on-side. Mitchell committed to the shot and tried to take a single of the delivery but was beaten by the drift and turn. The ball went onto clatter into the woodwork behind the batter, ending Mitchell's stay and putting even more pressure on New Zealand.
