While spectators around the planet were watching an intense World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia on Sunday, a lighthearted moment took place at Narendra Modi Stadium involving two of the sides’ most prolific players – KL Rahul and Glenn Maxwell.

Having been asked to bat first, the Men in Blue were not in a comfortable position early in the game, having lost Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer within the first 62 balls of play. Hence, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had a job to steady the ship, and the duo did their bit magnificently, taking India to 128/3 at the end of 24 overs.

A heartfelt moment occurred in the midst of all of this, touching the hearts of many ardent fans.

The incident happened at the end of 18 overs when Rahul played Maxwell through long-on and took a single. Maxwell dived to stop it but failed to do so, and while going up on his feet, Rahul came at the non-strikers’ end.

The duo almost collided unintentionally and Maxwell gave him a tight hug before discussing he was not aware of the situation.
