On Tuesday, October 1, India scripted off one of the best victories in Test cricket as the Rohit Sharma-led side beat Bangladesh by seven wickets to clean-sweep the series 2-0. The atmosphere was electrifying at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur as the fans turned up in huge numbers to witness India beat Bangladesh. 

After the game, beautiful scenes were caught on camera as Virat Kohli gifted his bat to Shakib Al Hasan. In the video that has now gone viral on the internet, Virat went to Shakib, who potentially played his last Test match for Bangladesh. It was a beautiful gesture from the former India skipper, as Shakib has been a legend of the game. 


Shakib Al Hasan's Performance In The Kanpur Test

While Shakib is yet to announce his retirement, he had earlier remarked that the Kanpur Test or the upcoming Mirpur Tests against South Africa would be the last for The Tigers. 

In the recently concluded match, Shakib registered his best Test figures against India as he took a four-wicket haul in the first innings, which included the wicket of Virat Kohli. 

Although, Shakib had a failure with the bat as he returned to the pavilion on a duck in potentially his last Test innings. He also raised the bat while walking back to the dugout further hinted that the Kanpur Test was his last. 

Shakib Al Hasan Announces T20I Retirement

In a significant development, legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced his retirement from T20I  cricket. In a press conference ahead of the second Test against India, Shakib confirmed his T20I retirement.  In the same conference, Shakib also confirmed he would bid adieu to Test cricket.
