Rachin Ravindra’s breezy cameo of 8-ball 15 came to an end on Sunday (April 8) in Match 22 of IPL 2024 between CSK and KKR, taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The rising superstar got the start he was looking for but failed cheaply after KKR trapped a perfect trap for him.

After watching Mitchell Starc smacked for a hat-trick of fours, Shreyas Iyer put a fielder near the boundary line at long-on. Vaibhav Arora bowled a short delivery outside the off-stump, and Ravindra took the areal route in an attempt for a lofted drive. The timing was not perfect at all, as Ravindra holed out to Varun Chakravarthy, who made no mistake while taking the catch.

Earlier in the match, KKR could only muster 137/9 on the board after Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and asked them to bat first. Shreyas Iyer scored 34 runs, but took 32 balls to get there before losing his wicket. On the other hand, neither Andre Russell and Rinku Singh failed to put on a stellar show, while Sunil Narine scored 27 off 20 balls.

At the time of writing this, CSK are 68/1 after 8.1 overs, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell in the middle, on 35* and 16* respectively.
