'When Dew Comes...' Jadeja Assess Conditions After 3-Fer Vs KKR In Chepauk

CSK trump card Ravindra Jadeja rattled KKR's batting lineup with his spin magic and revealed how Chepauk's slow-turner wicket made the batter's life a living hell.

With a view to get back to winning ways, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted undefeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk earlier today.

Bowling first, CSK had a dream start, with Tushar Deshpande dismissing dangerous Phil Salt on the opening delivery.

Just when KKR tried to recover from the early setback, Ravindra Jadeja unleashed his web of spin to leave KKR's middle order in shambles. He picked up three big wickets of Sunil Narine, Angkrish, and Venkatesh Iyer, which in turn restricted KKR to a below-par total of 137 runs.

That being said, Jadeja admitted in a mid-game interview that the wicket wasn't helping the batter at all. It was a slow-turning wicket, but definitely not a rank turner. After pitching, the ball didn't come onto the bat that easily, which made stroke playing relatively harder.

"If the dew comes then the conditions totally change. If it doesn't the wicket plays totally different. We hope to chase down this total," Jadeja told commentators.

Despite favourable conditions, Jadeja stuck to a simple game plan of bowling onto the stump at a controlled line.

"There was slow turn I would say. Not a rank turn. After pitching the ball, it wasn't coming well on the bat. I was looking to pitch on the stumps. It became difficult for the batters," said Jadeja.

Not only that, Jadeja credited Mustafizur Rahman for mastering the execution of slower balls as batters failed to read him completely.

Jadeja also unlocked a milestone of fetching 100 catches in IPL. However, he disregarded that accomplishment by saying that he did not pay much heed to catches.

"I don't count catches [on the record of 100 catches]," Jadeja quipped.

Lastly, Jadeja concluded his speech by saying how chasing 138 would be a cakewalk and that CSK would try to play normal cricket to achieve the target quickly.
