Rohit Sharma and his typical way of abusing his teammates and the opposition are nothing new in cricket. However, on Thursday, during Day 1 of the fifth Test between India and England, he took it to new heights, and the man who was at the receiving end was none other than the on-field umpire Joel Wilson.

Wilson receives a lot of criticism due to his frequent controversial decisions, which often get overturned following DRS calls. Similarly, it happened in Dharamsala, and the latest blunder that the West Indian made, was against the Indian skipper.

The incident happened during the seventh over of India’s innings when James Anderson bowled a short of a length delivery which was going down the leg side. Rohit was playing along the line, only to miss as the ball bruised his thigh pad before going into the hands of the wicket-keeper Ben Foakes.

Yet, England appealed for a caught behind, and Wilson took a little time before raising his finger. Immediately after, Rohit signalled T with frustration, and his gesture, which included uttering a popular vulgar word in India, suggested he was not at all happy to see him give that out.

And Rohit, who made a blunder by himself earlier in the day, was right, as the replay confirmed there was no connection between the bat and the ball, and the on-field decision had to be overturned.
