Since the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 is nearing its conclusion, each outcome is significant for the individual teams that have been vying for a spot in the playoffs.

Two of them, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, will have a face-off on Friday in Match 25 of the ongoing edition at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Having won four out of their eight matches, Babar Azam-led Peshawar are comparatively better placed on the points table, sitting on third position. However, they have plenty of areas to worry about, and among them, the biggest of all is the recent form of Tom Kohler-Cadmore. 

The Englishman is having a nightmare campaign in Pakistan, having made 18, 2, 12, 5 while representing Peshawar in the competition. He was not in great touch in the International League T20 either, where he led Sharjah Warriors.

Therefore, Babar may have no choice but to drop the swashbuckling batsman and bring back one of Mohammad Haris and Paul Walter. The likeliest to make the cut is, of course, Haris, given that he bats among the top-order players, and can be an identical replacement for Tom Kohler-Cadmore. 

However, Haris too struggled to make a significant impact in the season, and hence, it would be interesting to see what Babar and Co. decide to do.

There should not be any other changes in the Peshawar unit, given that they have been in scintillating form after losing their opening two fixtures. So, Saim Ayub, Haseebullah Khan, Rovman Powell, Asif Ali, Aamer Jamal, Luke Wood, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mehran Mumtaz, and Salman Irshad should all retain their places alongside Babar.
