The first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka has not started on a great note for the home team as they have been reduced to 45-5 in no time. The five wickets have been shared between two South African pacers, Kagiso Rabada and Wiaan Mulder. Rabada's second wicket was Litton Das and a lot of credit for it would go to Tristan Stubbs who grabbed a stunning catch at gully to send back Bangladesh's experienced cricketer.
It was a good-length delivery, around off. Litton Das pushed at it with hard hands and got a thick outside edge. The ball flew in the gap between third slip and gully, but Tristan Stubbs dived full-length to his left and took a brilliant catch.
It was Kagiso Rabada's 301st wicket in Test cricket as earlier with the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim, the pacer became the sixth South African to reach 300 Test wickets.
Bangladesh Batters Struggle On Difficult Pitch
The pitch is a difficult one to bat, with help for both pacers and spinners. Bangladesh skipper Shanto won the toss and decided to bat first, but Bangladesh batters failed to apply themselves in the middle. Mulder removed top three batters while Rabada has got big wickets of Rahim and Litton Das. The visitors are in a pole position now, and would be looking to capitalise on the start and knock over Bangladesh as quickly as possible.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, would be looking to get atleast over 200 and they still have some batting left in the tank with the duo of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the middle.
