India have been playing quality cricket in recent times and they are almost invincible at home. New Zealand though created history on Sunday, October 20th when they clinched their first Test victory on the Indian soil since 1988. The Kiwis won the game by eight wickets and the win was setup by their pacers when they knocked down India for just 46 in the first innings.
Indian batters did better in the second outing and scored 462 with Sarfaraz Khan leading the way with 150. Other batters also did well, but KL Rahul failed in both the innings, bagging scores of 0 and 12. There are now question marks on his place in the Indian Test squad and the under-fire cricketer was seen showing gratitude towards the M. Chinnaswamy Pitch by touching the pitch in the same way Sachin Tendulkar did after his final Test at the Wankhede Stadium.
KL Rahul's Pitch Gesture Shows His Love For Chinnaswamy
The people on social media are speculating that he would take retirement from Test cricket which seems baseless as Rahul is still pretty young and has shown the hunger to play all three formats. He also played an important knock of 68 against Bangladesh in the Kanpur Test and has lot of cricket in him.
The gesture towards the pitch seems more concentrated towards his love for Chinnaswamy, his home ground, where he has played lot of cricket growing up. For every cricketer, playing Test match at his home ground is special and same seems to be the case with KL Rahul.
