Kagiso Rabada Joins Legendary List Of Steyn, Pollock And Donald During 1st Test vs BAN

South Africa is playing against Bangladesh in the first Test of the two-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The home team has been put under pressure by the brilliance of the South African bowlers on the morning of Day 1.

Najmul Hossain Shanto's decision to bat first after winning the toss seemed to be a strategic move. However, it backfired as the team's top order failed to show any resilience. 

Wiaan Mulder destroyed the Bangladeshi top-order

Wiaan Mulder decimated the Bangladeshi top-order, accounting for the first three wickets within the first six overs. With Najmul Hossain Shanto being one of the three wickets, the responsibility was on senior pro Mushfiqur Rahim to bail the team from trouble. 

However, Kagiso Rabada, with his brilliance, cut short the stay of Rahim in the middle. On the fifth delivery of the 14th over, Rabada bowled a destructive inswinger that exposed the technique of the veteran Bangladeshi batter. The stumps were uprooted from the pitch, and Rahim had no clue what had happened.

Rabada picked up his 300th Test wicket

With the wicket, Rabada became the sixth South African bowler to reach the landmark of 300 Test wickets. The list comprises some of the greatest names to have ever graced the game, like Dale Steyn, Shaun Pollock, Allan Donald, Makhaya Ntini, and Morne Morkel. 

Dale Steyn has the most wickets for South Africa in Test cricket. He picked up 439 wickets in 93 Test matches. Before this match, Kagiso Rabada had 299 wickets to his name in 64 games at an average of 22.08
