One of New Zealand's vital cogs in bowling, Trent Boult is a crowd favourite and knows how to keep the fans engaged in the stadium while fielding. Boult managed to do exactly the same during New Zealand's second warm-up against South Africa at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

Fielding near the boundary line, the left-arm pacer imitated his Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson's antics to the tee, as the crowd cheered him on.

For the uninterested, Samson hails from Kerala and is a favourite amongst fans all over India.

In the video shared on social media platform 'X', Boult could be seen copying Samson's mannerisms, like removing the cap and hitting the all in the air.

The RR pacer managed to claim two wickets in five overs against SA, where the Black Caps managed to clinch the encounter by seven runs via the DLS method.

Boult has a terrific record in the 50-overs World Cup, having picked up 22 and 17 in the 2015 and 2019 editions, respectively.

The former MI bowler's experience in India will come in handy, and he is known to exploit swinging conditions to perfection.

The Black Caps will start their World Cup 2023 campaign against defending champions England on October 5 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.

Regular captain Kane Williamson is expected to miss the opener, despite being in good touch in both warm-ups.
