Every fast bowler’s dream is to hit the top of the off stump, leaving batters clueless. Marizanne Kapp, easily the greatest all-rounder among women in South Africa, did exactly that on Monday during Delhi Capitals’ WPL 2024 clash against UP Warriorz in Bengaluru.

More significantly, it was Tahlia McGrath, the second-ranked T20I batter in the world, who left shellshocked after getting stunned by the ace all-rounder.

Coming at No. 3, McGrath, the aggressive Australian all-rounder, was facing Kapp during the fifth over of Warriroz’s innings. Kapp began with a delivery which pitched at good length towards the middle and off stump. Mcgrath went for a defensive push, only to see the ball go past her bat before hitting the top of the off stump.

It was a magical delivery for any bowler, and hence, Kapp, who is not known for showing her reactions on the field despite producing stellar performances one after another, could not stop smiling with satisfaction.

Kapp, who had a five-wicket haul against Gujarat Giants in WPL 2023, gave the Capitals an ideal start against UP Warriorz. 4-1-5-3 was her figures against Healy & Co., which included the dangerous wicket of Alyssa Healy as well.
