After coming to chase a challenging 192 against England in India’s fourth Test in Ranchi, Yashasvi Jaiswal showed composure alongside Rohit Sharma on Monday. The pair added 84 runs for the opening wicket, setting the platform for others.

Riding on Jaiswal’s quickfire 37-ball 44, followed by Rohit’s 55, Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 52, and Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten 35, India saw off the target with five wickets to spare.

With four 50+ scores along with two double centuries, Jaiswal’s tally has reached 655 runs in the ongoing series, averaging an astonishing 93.57. It was the highest aggregate by an Indian batter, and it was set by none other than Virat Kohli back when England had toured India in 2016/17.

Moreover, Jaiswal still has a game in hand, meaning he will surpass Virat Kohli and become the undisputed player against England in a single Test bilateral series.

India, meanwhile, have taken an unassailable 3-1 lead by defeating England in Ranchi. Along with Jaiswal, the youngster who made the most out of the recently-concluded Test was Dhruv Jurel. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) duo have made the English attack look like men against boys, as the Ben Stokes-led side lost their first bilateral series against Rohit Sharma and his boys.
