In Sunday's T20 Blast 2023 clash between Surrey and Sussex, James Coles redefined gravity by taking one of the most incredible catches taken in the competition ever. 

The incident happened during the first innings of the match at the Kennington Oval when Sam Curran tried late cutting a fuller delivery from part-time spinner Darren Lehmann but ended up miscuing the ball towards backward point. Fielding at that position, Coles flew to his right and gobbled a one-handed screamer to end Curran's knock on 2.

Curran, who showed some form with the bat for Punjab in the IPL 2023, started off the English T20 competition brilliantly with the bat, scoring a match-winning 68 against Middlesex. However, he has had two off-colour knocks in the tournament since then.

Returning to the fixture between Surrey and Sussex, the former team kept on losing wickets at regular intervals, resulting in them getting all-out for 148 as Ravi Bopara and Tymal Mills shared five wickets. However, Sussex, despite almost playing their entire quote of overs, chased down the total of 49, thanks to Tom Alsop and Michael Burgess.
