Swashbuckling Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav announced his arrival in the Caribbean in style in the ongoing first ODI against West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados. Regarded as India's Mr 360, Yadav smacked Jayden Seales for an extraordinary six over square leg fence, earning massive praise for his flamboyance in this process.
Coming to bat at number three, Yadav opened his account with a glorious flick shot for four runs off Dominic Drakes. In the very next over, the stylish batter from Mumbai drove Jayden Seales beautifully for another boundary to get into his groove.
However, the dynamic batter stole the show in the eighth over, as he enthralled the spectators with his trademark pick-up shot, which went for a massive six over the square leg fence, stunning Seales.
However, Yadav couldn't convert his blistering start to a match-winning knock, managing only 19 runs before falling prey to wily Caribbean spinner Gudakesh Motie. But considering he had recorded consecutive ducks in his last three outings, this cameo certainly would've boosted his confidence.
Earlier, India bowled West Indies out for a paltry 114, thanks to clinical bowling performances from Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Chasing 115, India are inching towards an emphatic victory, placed at 86 for three, with Ishan Kishan and Ravindra Jadeja batting on 48* and 2*, respectively.
