Indian spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added yet another jewel to his crown during the 1st ODI in Barbados as he leapfrogged superstar all-rounder Kapil Dev to become the leading wicket-taker for his country in India vs West Indies ODIs.

On a wicket that looked tailor-made for spinners, the Indian left-arm duo of Jadeja (3/37 in 6) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/6 in 3) feasted on a toothless Windies batting unit to shot them over for 114 in just 23 overs.

Jadeja bagged three scalps in the form of Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd (thanks to a one-handed stunner from Virat Kohli in the cordon) to take his wicket-tally to 44 against the West Indies.

In the process, the left-arm orthodox overhauled Kapil Dev's tally (43 wickets in 42 games) to become the most successful bowler for India against the former two-time champions. Interestingly, Jadeja has taken 12 less innings to overhaul Dev's wicket tally.

Regarding the overall list, Jadeja is now the joint-leading wicket-taker in India v WI ODIs, alongside the legendary Courtney Walsh, who took 38 innings for the same number of scalps.

While Jadeja was on song, Kuldeep didn't miss a beat as he mopped up the Windies' tail to finish with barely believable figures of 4/6.

This is also the first instance of two left-arm spinners taking seven wickets between them for India in ODIs.

Their onslaught meant that WI registered their 2nd lowest total against India in this format and the joint-third lowest at home.
