Cricket field often gives you scenes which you have never seen before. Such a moment took place on Saturday when India and Australia met at the MCG during the Boxing Day Test match.

The incident happened when Mitchell Starc had the second new ball in hand during the 81st over of India’s innings. It was a full delivery by Starc which was going down the leg side. Sundar tried to play it towards the fine leg region, only to see the ball going towards the slip cordon after it hit the backside off the bat.

Smith had no clue whatsoever about the ball coming towards him before a diving effort went in vain. Starc too was shocked to see the way ball went to Smith, as Sundar got lucky after a reverse-edge.

India Stage Fightback After Rishabh Pant's Wicket On Day 3

Meanwhile, India have steadied the ship after Rishabh Pant's early departure. Both Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar are in the middle, batting on 59* and 29* respectively. They have successfully avoided the follow-on, and now are on a mission to reduce the first-innings trail.

At this point, India are 288/7, still trailing by 186 runs after Australia's 464 in the first innings. Both Reddy and Sundar are playing the new ball steadily, as their partnership have rescued India after early follow-on scare.
