Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant got out in a bizarre fashion, as his audacious scoop landed in the safe hands of Nathan Lyon in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Batting at number six, Pant struck 28 runs before Boland dismissed him at a crucial juncture of the game.

The incident occurred during the 56th over of India's first innings when Pant was batting alongside Ravindra Jadeja. Australian captain Pat Cummins brought homeboy Scott Boland into the attack in pursuit of a breakthrough.

His decision proved to be a masterstroke as the right-arm pacer got Pant's prized scalp, asserting Australia's dominance in the Test match. However, Pant had none apart from himself to blame, as his poor shot selection was the reason behind the debacle.

From around the wicket, Boland bowled a full-length delivery, as Rishabh Pant attempted an audacious ramp shot to unsettle him. However, he only managed a top edge, with Lyon taking a simple catch at the deep third man and sending him back to the dugout.

India In A Spot Of Bother At MCG

Riding on bowlers' excellent performance, Australia are in a commanding position in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against India. As of writing, the visitors were 214 for six, with Nitish Reddy and Ravindra Jadeja batting on 20* and 12*, respectively. They still need 61 runs to avoid the follow-on.
