India's promising all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy showcased his batting excellence for one more time in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, slamming a magnificent fifty in the fourth Test. The talented cricketer stitched a valiant stand with Washington Sundar, bailing India out of trouble with his stoic batting.

After India resumed their innings on 164 for five, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja frustrated the Aussies with dodged resistance. However, after both players got out in quick succession, Reddy joined forces with Washington Sundar, executing a commendable rescue act for the visiting side.

The stylish right-handed batter eventually brought up a well-deserved half-century with a courageous boundary off ace Australian speedster Mitchell Starc. After completing his fifty, Nitish Reddy gave a fitting tribute to Telugu Cinema Superstar Allu Arjun, emulating his trademark act in the Pushpa movie.

From over the wicket, Starc bowled a loose full-length delivery way outside the off stump, as Reddy nailed a lofted side off his front foot over the off-side field. The ball raced to the fence and the batter brought up his maiden half-century in Tests, following it with the iconic celebration.

India Avoid Follow On In MCG Test

Riding on a sensational partnership between Reddy and Sundar, India have avoided the follow-on in the MCG Test against Australia. As of writing, the visitors were 291 for seven, with Reddy and Sundar batting on 61* and 31*, respectively.
